When Kauravas cooled down slowly, Lord Krushna, the Spouse of Maha: Lakshmi, and Arjuna, the son of Late king Pa:ndu, also blew their own conches. Those conches are divine. Their chariot is so great that it can win over all the three worlds. It is lead by 4 white horses.

Note - The names given to each of the words in this slo:ka are highly metaphoric. Here, the chariot represents 'o:m', the Origin of all the Vedas and the whole of the Universe itself. The chariot was thus said with the word ‘syandana’ means ‘that leads towards the ultimate destination of the souls’ journey’.

And the word ‘mahathi’ reveals that this 'O:m' is only the one that can save all souls who are in 3 stages, viz.,

1. Those who are in superior worlds, like de:vathas,

2. Those who are in inferior worlds, like animals etc., and

3. We, the human beings, partly here and partly there.

The word 'hayaihi' which means ‘something that gives knowledge’, represent The Holy Vedas. They are 4, Rig Ve:da, Yajur Ve:da, Sa:ma Ve:da and Attharva Ve:da respectively. Hence in the word Hayaihi, plural number is used.

The word 'Swe:thaihi' clarifies the purity of the Holy Ve:das. Otherwise in the Slo:ka, the mention of the colour of the horses becomes irrelevant. The Holy Ve:das are so pure that they are not at all having any defects that any human created text possesses.

There are 3 letters in the O:m. a+u+m. ‘ a ‘ talks about the Originator of this Universe, who should be identified through His Spouse Maha Lakshmi. Thus His name mentioned in the slo:ka as 'Ma:dhavaha'.

‘ m ‘ reveals the very essential character of the Soul, as he is having in-built knowledge, which is really pure by nature. Thus the word assigned in the slo:ka to the soul is 'pa:ndava' . ‘Panda:’ means ‘knowledge’. One who possesses that knowledge is called ‘pa:nduhu’. The one belongs to that lineage is called 'pa:ndavaha'.

‘u ‘ in the O:m, speaks about the unbroken relationship of the soul + Super Soul, The Originator of this Universe whom people call as God. Here Lord Krushna and Arjuna were having inseperable relationship between them, and are standing in the chariot, as if, they are representing two letters of the O:m.  To say that those two letters reveal and speak out the greatest meaning of all the Ve:das, Sanjaya in the slo:ka said that those two persons in the chariot were blowing their own conches. Enough with elaboration. This slo:ka, in short, is the key to the whole of Bhagavad Gi:tha.
